The Technology
Solution KB-00 is a multi-component
disinfectant with a myriad of applications. It provides
a suitable concentrate of organo-metalic compounds that
form suitable disinfectants and sterilants upon admixing
it with water or other aqueous sources. The bactericidal
agents used are stabilized hydrogen peroxide and chelated
silver ions that work in a synergistic fashion so as to
disrupt biological activities of microorganisms. Due to
its proprietary nature, it has been awarded a United States
Patent # 6,242,009, and it is currently being patented in
more than twenty countries, and is available on the PCT
(Patent Cooperation Treaty) Web Site, and has the number
WO 00/62618. In addition, Solution KB-00 has been approved
by the USFDA (United States Food & Drug Administration),
and is now available on the FDA effective notification Internet
site at http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/opa-fcn.html
and is assigned the Numbers 295 and 296. It is also noteworthy
to mention here that these approvals are novel since they
constitute precedence in that it is the first time that
the USFDA approves silver and hydrogen peroxide as antimicrobial
agents to be used as direct food additives.
Solution KB-00 is a new generation of ecologically non-toxic
antiseptics and disinfectants that are highly effective
against a broad spectrum of pathogenic microorganisms. These
compounds differ from conventional chemical disinfectants
and sterilants since they do not contain poisonous substances
such as aldehydes, phenols, chlorine, etc. Solution KB-00
is not only a disinfectant but also an effective sterilant;
as the name implies it can completely destroy pathogenic
microorganisms. Such compound offer many advantages over
conventional ones.

Toxicity
A. Active Ingredients
Hydrogen peroxide & Silver:
Hydrogen peroxide decomposes readily
upon contact with food and it is degraded to H2O and O2
which should not present any toxicological concerns. The
concentration of silver in attaining the intended technical
effect should not present any toxicological concerns since
its concentration is comparable with that of USFDA (United
States Food & Drug Administration), USDA (United States
Department of Agriculture) USEPA (United States Environmental
Protection Agency) and the WHO (World Health Organization)
standards for silver regulations. It is especially notable
to mention here that, from an ecological perspective, the
decomposition end-products of Solution KB-00 is mainly water
and trace elements that are harmless to living organisms.
B. Inactive Ingredients
All inactive ingredients present in
Solution KB-00 are basic constituent of the human food diet.
All are considered as indirect food additives, and it is
generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the USFDA.

Microbicidal Effect
Solution KB-00 has been tested against
a broad spectrum of microorganisms. This includes testing
it in water, on surfaces, and on food, including agricultural
crops as a pesticide. These protocols include determining
Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), Acute Kill Experiments
and Bacterial Enumeration. Collectively, Solution KB-00
has been proven to be a potent and effective microbicidal
agent if applied within certain recommended levels of concentration.
The present complex was found to be extremely attractive
to be used for agricultural crops and products. This emanates
from the fact that there are no known virucides for agricultural
products, making the present invention to be the first of
its kind for such applications.

Storage & Stability
Storage of KB-00
According to our MSDS-stored in a dark place with a temperature
range of 5-25°C with a maximum storage time of 6 months.
Since ultraviolet rays could cause decomposition of end
product, all storage containers should be impervious to
light. Storage tanks can be made from materials such as
borosilicate glasses, pure aluminum (99.5% aluminum with
a Cu and Fe content = 0.002%), stainless steel, high density
polyethylene, and polyvinylchloride (PVC) can all be used
as long as they don't contain plasticisers and/or pigments
that might interfere with the end product.
Stability of KB-00:
Biological experiments have revealed
that there was no significant change of Solution KB-00 efficacy
after six month from making the batches. Stability larger
than six months are of no consequence since Solution KB-00
will generally be used within 3 months of production.
